Philosophy

Planning any event is hard work, and planning your own is especially challenging. First & Green offers many options, all starting with what you want. For planning purposes, we provide some price indications below, but all pricing proposals are developed in direct response to your requests.

Beautiful memories need not be expensive to create. We do our best to develop a plan with you that realizes your dreams without exceeding your budget. The more you can tell us about what you imagine, the better we can be at helping to create the magic you seek.

Pricing Components

Costs are broken into three categories: the rental of the space, and the arrangements for catering and service, and equipment rental.

Beyond that, there are often further costs for entertainment, decorations and flowers, and specialized services such as wedding officiants or AV Tech support. We are happy to work with you to develop expected costs for the entire event, and to suggest sources of and even arrange services and items we do not provide.

Payment

A $250 refundable deposit will hold the space for you, and then other details can be arranged. We will provide you with a venue rental contract that lays out the payment schedule. For catering, service, and equipment rental, it often takes longer to develop the full plan. One half of the estimated price of catering is due on signing, and the other half two weeks before the event. Incidental charges incurred during the event will be reflected on a final invoice. The deposit is not part of the total venue cost and will be returned following your event assuming that the space is returned in the condition in which it was found or cleaning and breakdown arrangements have been made.

We accept checks and can also accept major credit cards. All charges except the incidental ones incurred during the event must be settled in full before the event. We are required to add 7% MS sales tax to all charges.

Renting The Space

Saturday

Saturday events are considered to start at 7:00 am to allow plenty of time for special decorating. The party must end by midnight (and the band shut down by 11:00 pm by local ordinance), but equipment may be stored in the building overnight. Rates start at $2000. Many parties book the space starting Friday morning. We offer a package price of $2500 fro rental from Friday at 7 am through Saturday at midnight. Friday and Sunday rental rates start at $1000.

Weekdays and Nights

Monday through Thursday costs are lowest at $100/hour before 5:00 pm and $200 per hour after 5:00 pm, subject to a $500 minimum rental.

Included with the rental is use of our sound system with two wireless microphones and LED lighting that allows for various lighting effects.

Arranging Catering, Service, and Equipment

The Food

We are pleased to offer one stop shopping at First & Green, including excellent catering services. While we have a series of standard menus, ask us for exactly what you want, and we will provide you with a proposal and a cost.

The Service

If you need serving staff or bartenders, do not fear, as we have a well trained group at the ready. A carving station? A chocolate fountain? No problem. Service costs are bundled into your catering charges.

The Equipment

Yes, we have tables and chairs, white, black, and purple tablecloths, napkins and place settings that include 10 1/2″ and 7 1/2″ white plates, bowls, and coffee mugs, with flatware, and such details as salt shakers and fresh pepper mills, sugar bowls and creamer, along with the equipment to serve your buffet or seated dinner. We also offer decorative items such as candleholders and vases, and silk flowers, as well as punchbowls, beverage dispensers and coffee urns, a multi section portable stage, a chocolate fountain, and more. We can price these on an a la carte basis, or bundle them into the catering charges.

The Cost

Typically, menu and service costs for a reception for 200 people assuming buffet service costs about $25 per person, plus $1.75 MS sales tax, including service personnel. Pricing can range from $15 to $75 or more depending on the menu and the service format as well as the number of guests.
